Spilt gate = best gate. Rolls knows.

LOL Be prepared to face the wrath of Oppo for posting yet another luxury “SUV”
Plus, all SUVs Bad because Jalopnik says so

I want this so bad. It actually makes so much sense for Rolls Royce. I mean its about this size, right? Maybe smaller.

that is exactly what i figured a rolls royce suv would look like

But this one makes sense!!!
I’m going to keep defending this vehicle with huge old rolls Royce pictures.

This is how tailgates should work:

My 80 was better than my Tahoe in lots of ways, but the split tailgate is the way in which it was most comprehensively better.

I completely agree when the rear seats don’t fold on anything with a hatch.

I...Guess?

Clarkson approved.

its genuinely one of the big reasons finding a potential 80 series replacement is difficult. Its basically a 100 or 200 series and I don’t love that. If the 4runner came with the splitgate it would make it a lot easier to shop around.

HOLY SHIT! That was stock?
![]() 05/09/2018 at 12:25 |

I give the 4 runner a pass for not having a split gate with that trick roll down window.

Hell yeah.

Makes no sense not to teach people about the cars they are actually buying. You can be an enthusiast and still be knowledgeable about all cars. Assist with choosing the car for your lifestyle not the lifestyle for your car.
![]() 05/09/2018 at 12:30 |

For sure!! You don’t really need it to fold down, since the roofline slopes enough that you can park your butt on the car itself.
Plus, you can leave that back window open and cruise along - breathing a little exhaust is good for the kids, builds lung strength, I think.

Its neat I guess, but it doesn’t give me many of the benefits. I think Toyota knows this too since they started offering that sliding rear cargo tray that can handle the weight of people.

SUVs are to blame for pedestrian deaths, and in the next paragraph said the pastime of jaywalking across 5 lanes of traffic.
How to disprove your point in easiest way possible.
![]() 05/09/2018 at 12:32 |

Relax. I was joking.
Pedestrians kill more SUVs than SUV’s kill pedestrians, obviously.

It’s cool. I was just pointing out that Erin disproved everything she wrote by saying that jaywalking across 5 lanes is a pastime.
I can’t believe someone would do that trying to prove a point, but then ruin everything.

It’s FP. Clickbait is what they do.

Not that you should buy one, but the first gen Cadillac Escalade can be found with either a split tailgate or barn doors. Aren’t Range Rovers split as well?
